    There really is no reason to not go Paleo, or at least not go modern Paleo.  Often it is easier to make (less processing, simple ingredients), and you can make similar meals to the common grub people already eat.  It may not be pasta or bread but you can get close with other things like spaghetti squash and almond flour.  Now with this list of delicious desserts – all main meals are conquered, your excuses have no where to hide.
